The threshold
Moove had a Figma prototype, a 4-person business team, and a launch window tied to the Anoumabo festival. No internal tech team. No time to recruit one.
The bet: ship an Android + iOS app plus a driver back-office, ready to absorb the traffic of an 850,000-person event.
The approach
→ LANCER, in the literal sense. No scope creep, no "we'll add it later" features. Anything not in v1 was explicitly documented in a phase-2 notebook.
What we shipped
- Mobile app (React Native + Expo) — booking, real-time tracking, Mobile Money payment via Orange + MTN.
- Driver back-office (Next.js) — ride management, payments, support.
- Infra (Vercel + Supabase + Cloudflare) — auto-scaling tested to 1.2M concurrent users.
The outcome
850,000 peak users the night of the festival. 99.94% uptime. Zero blocking incidents. Three months later, Moove hired their CTO — who inherited a clean, documented codebase he can grow.
